Strategic focus areas
The three Strategic Focus Areas defined for the ERI period 2017–2020, i.e. Personalized Health and Related Technologies, Data Science, and Advanced Manufacturing, are being continued in 2021–2024 so that their potential can be fully realised.
The three Strategic Focus Areas identified by the ETH Board as priority fields address the challenges facing society. They enable the expertise present within the ETH Domain to be shared in a coordinated manner. The areas in question are:
These three Strategic Focus Areas are models of cooperation that have been forged not only between the various institutions within the ETH Domain and other partners within the Swiss university landscape, but also with the federal administration, industry and hospitals. They enable the ETH Domain – and Switzerland as a whole – to position itself as a leader in these crucial areas of research.
