Conciliation Commission

The Conciliation Commission according to the Gender Equality Act for the ETH Domain (schlichtungskommission@ethrat.ch) provides information and advice in the event of disputes in the area of the Gender Equality Act that involve employment relationships in the ETH Domain. The aim of the conciliation process is to achieve a mutually acceptable solution to the dispute in verbal negotiations with the parties (employer and employee) in order to avoid court proceedings. The Conciliation Commission does not issue any judgments. It handles cases confidentially, but not anonymously. The following issues can be dealt with by the Conciliation Commission if they fall under the Gender Equality Act:

  • Pay
  • Allocation of tasks
  • Education and training
  • Promotion
  • Working conditions
  • Hiring or termination
  • Sexual harassment
  • Gender-related bullying or bullying for requiring equality
