The ETH Domain has a great deal of interest in stable relationships with the EU. The free movement of persons is particularly important to enable it to attract the best researchers and employees, as is participation in the EU’s programmes for research, education and innovation. The ETH Board therefore very much welcomes the conclusion of the negotiations on the Bilaterals III. Given the overarching importance of the Bilaterals III, it is reasonable for the EU to demand the equal treatment of EU students, and that they should not pay higher tuition fees. The ETH Board is pleased that the EU Commission is allowing the Swiss participants to take part in the Horizon Europe proposals for 2025 even before the agreement has been officially signed.
