ETH Board appoints new Vice President for Finances at EPFL

Upon application of EPFL President Martin Vetterli, the ETH Board has appointed Françoise Bommensatt as new Vice President for Finances for the 2021–2024 period.

Françoise Bommensatt comes with an impressive track record in managing finance departments in the higher education sector. Currently, she is Chief Financial Officer at the Swiss Education Group, a business and hospitality management institution based in Montreux, where she has played an instrumental role in the Group’s strategic development. She is also a strong financial executive with proven success in transformation processes in her roles as Executive Managing Director at the Collège du Léman, an international school in Geneva, and at CERN.

Having obtained a Master’s degree in business administration and quantitative analysis from the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, Françoise Bommensatt also holds a postgraduate diploma in international finance (DESS) from the same university. She is passionate about art and has an excellent command of English and German in addition to her native language, French. She will take up her new position in October 2021 at the latest

With Françoise Bommensatt as EPFL’s new Vice President for Finances during the 2021-2024 period, Martin Vetterli has now filled all management positions for his second term. For the first time in the history of EPFL the Executive Board will now have equal numbers of men and women.
