important management <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">tool<\/span><span class=\"cf0\">, the Dispatch on the Promotion of Education, Research and Innovation (ERI Dispatch), to <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">shape<\/span> <span class=\"cf0\">its<\/span> <span class=\"cf0\">policy<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> in the <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">field<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> of <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">education<\/span><span class=\"cf0\">, <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">research<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> and innovation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a6e4b4f elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a6e4b4f\" data-element_type=\"section\" and Innovation (SERI) and submitted to the Swiss parliament every four years.\u00a0When drafting the section on the ETH Domain, SERI refers to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ethrat.ch\/en\/news-publications\/strategic-plan\/\">Strategic Plan<\/a> of the ETH Board for the ETH Domain, among other sources.\u00a0 The ETH Board undertakes one of its central tasks, i.e. the strategic planning for the ETH Domain, in this context. The Strategic Plan and the <a href=\"https:\/\/ethrat.ch\/en\/news-publications\/intermediate-evaluation-of-the-eth-domain\/\">Intermediate Evaluation of the ETH Domain<\/a> also provide essential information used in preparing the Federal Council\u2019s Strategic Objectives for the ETH Domain for the relevant period.<\/p>\n<p>The Strategic Plan and the Strategic Objectives are two management tools intended to ensure the coherence and promotion of research, education and innovation within the ETH Domain in compliance with the national and international priorities defined in the ERI Dispatch.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-df890da elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"df890da\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-c69b612\" data-id=\"c69b612\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dac9c94 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dac9c94\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>The ERI Dispatch: a compass for the Swiss education, research and innovation landscape<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-92b5234 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"92b5234\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-a5738bd\" data-id=\"a5738bd\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e528f75 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e528f75\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The ERI Dispatch is the Swiss Confederation&#8217;s most important instrument for managing the ERI stakeholders that it (co-)finances. In addition to the ETH Domain, these include the SNSF, Innosuisse, the cantonal universities and universities of applied sciences, and the vocational education and continuing education bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The ERI Dispatch sets out the guidelines, objectives and planned measures for the promotion of education, research and innovation, as well as the intended financial framework for the relevant time frame.<\/p>\n<p>As federal entities, the institutions of the ETH Domain are primarily funded by the federal government. For the period 2025\u20132028, the share of resources allocated to the ETH Domain amounts to just under CHF 11 billion, out of a total budget of around CHF 29 billion. In terms of timetable and content, these are consistent with the funding approved by the Federal Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The Strategic Objectives 2025\u20132028 approved on 21 March 2025 aim to define the tasks of the ETH Domain in relation to fulfilling its main duties, particularly:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section the world\u2019s leading institutions and maintaining its international attractiveness,<\/li>\n<li>continuing to pursue its strategic areas in order to meet the challenges currently faced by resources policy and pension provision.<\/p>\n<p>The ETH Board ensures the coordinated implementation of these objectives by the institutions of the ETH Domain through target agreements, which it concludes with each individual institution.
