From August to October 2024, the institutions of the ETH Domain conducted an internal preliminary consultation.<\/p>\n<p>The common denominator was that all the institutions support more intensive collaboration and enhanced strategic coordination, and this formed the basis of the ETH Board\u2019s decision in principle. As part of the strategic and structural development of the ETH Domain, the ETH Board wishes to strengthen the position of the research institutes and develop them further to form a \u201cSwiss National Lab\u201d (SNL, working title) as a key third pillar of the ETH Domain. The brands of the research institutions, which are highly regarded and well-known to stakeholders, will remain the same, as will their locations.
